Quellband 2520
Water Swellable Joint Tape
KÖSTER Quellband 2520 is a sodium bentonite based water swellable joint tape with an alkalinity activated surface coating which stops premature swelling of the tape on the building site.
KÖSTER Quellband 2520 is used as a waterstop in concrete construction joints. The tape is supplied as a robust strip and is simply fastened onto an existing joint face before the next concrete pour. Any subsequent water leakage through the joint activates the tape, which takes up leak water and swells. KÖSTER Quellband 2520 is tested upto 7 bar water pressure.
In comparison to plastic or resin based swellable tapes, which do not alter their structure during swelling, KÖSTER Quellband 2520 breaks down during the swelling process and the resulting paste seals all cracks and voids permenantly.
KÖSTER Quellband 2520 is suitable to be used in potable water tanks. The tape also has a limited swell in seawater tanks and water treatment plants.
The tape is easy to use and has a non-sticky surface, even at high temperatures in the sommer.
Application is very easy, the tape is nailed down on the concrete joint.
